Domain protection insurance is a special form of first-party claims insurance. The insurance covers the additional costs required for regaining a domain name in the event of a loss of domain name rights caused by a third party.

Domain protection insurance can be offered as a separate contract or as a benefit extension in professional indemnity insurance or general liability insurance.
