The Verband der Gründer und Selbstständigen Deutschland (VGSD, Association of Founders and Self-Employed Persons in Germany) represents the interests of founders, solo self-employed persons, and micro-entrepreneurs with up to ten employees. The VGSD fights against laws and regulations that are hostile to start-ups and small businesses. This includes campaigning for legal certainty in the status determination procedure, fair contributions to health and nursing care insurance, fair design of the planned mandatory pension scheme, and financial security during maternity leave.
In its political work, the VGSD gives founders and self-employed people an independent voice that is heard in politics, business, and society. The VGSD works within a professional network and is a founding member of the Federal Working Group of Self-Employed Associations (BAGSV), which represents 100,000 self-employed people.
