Step 1 Keep calm. Although reporting a damage event can be annoying, there is no point in getting upset. We will document the damage with you and take care of your concerns.

Step 2 Do not react to the actions of the alleged victim. Do not hire a lawyer, do not contact the injured party or their lawyer. Do not sign anything. Do not make promises or admit guilt.

Step 3 Have all documents and information ready that could be helpful in processing the damage event. For example, the compensation claim by the injured party, correspondence such as emails, contracts or agreements, etc. Provide information about the affected project and your collaboration with the injured party.

Step 1 keep calm. Even if important data is affected. In many cases, data believed lost can be saved. The insurer will provide you with specialists to solve the problem.

Step 2 Please do not take any action on your own. Attempts to fix things yourself (e.g. importing antivirus software or backup) can make the problem even worse and data that could still have been recovered may be lost forever.

Step 3 Gather all information that is important for handling the case. For example, when the damage occurred or which systems were infected. The more precisely you can describe the incident and the more information you make available to the cyber specialists, the better and faster the damage can be analysed and repaired.

Step 4 If you have caused cyber damage to a third party, please log in to exali.com. If you have suffered cyber damage yourself and you have chosen the optional first-party cyber and data risks insurance (FPC) add-on, please contact the insurer's 24-hour hotline.

Step 5 Wait for a response from exali.com customer service or the insurer. As soon as the claim has been analysed, we will discuss how to proceed with you. In many cases the problems can be solved remotely. If necessary, IT forensics specialists will repair the damage on site.
